What is plain language writing for the web and in detail and in your own words, why is it important? (4 Marks)

Plain English writing is important for the web because it’s the best way to reduce your written content down to its simplest points, which then makes it more accessible to more of an audience. When evaluating written content on the web, readers want to digest written information as efficiently and concisely as possible. Ideally, Plain English writing is achieved if it saves a reader time and/or money, encourages them to enjoy reading the written material, and is clear in its messaging (Briscoe, Plain Language Writing (W25).pdf, Slide 14).
