Describe one specific technique you used to improve readability in your revised version and explain why it is effective. (4 Marks)

In rewriting my business introduction, I wanted to make my messaging more concise and shorter in length, therefore making it easier to read (Briscoe, Plain Language Writing (W25).pdf, Slide 39 & 53). To accomplish this, I removed more complex or intense words and replaced them with easier to understand and simplified alternatives. This simplification can be effectively seen in the combination of two of my old sentences, where I created a short listing of my company’s benefits as opposed to listing them out.
